~*~*~*~sWeEt SiXtEeN 4 eVeR~*~*~**~

It is my 1 tru luv (and co-founder/creator/C.E.O. of This Symmetry)'s b-day today,
and it kills me that she's across the country and I can't personally deliver
the mad birthday rap I've been workin' on all year for her. These kids
do a pretty good job gettin' across what I wanna say to here though.
Eat cake on top of cake, food on top of food, etc.
B is one of the greatest gals alive, and besides being a fly honey,
talented artist, good cuddler, bad whistler, and muse to many,
SHE'S MY BEST FRIEND BITCH SO SEND YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHEZ AND GET CRUNK.

FALCO

Hellem vacuum pots, read more here.
Only the sweetest of Macarons!
Singer sewing machines I believe only placed for aesthetic..
My lunch, later added a delectable butternut squash soup.
The vacuum coffee process.

Incroyable.
Catherines lunch!
All the images above taken by myself.
In my first couple months of moving to Montreal, I went on a bicycle ride with my close
friend Myles Miller and he told me we were going somewhere special. Without much expectation,
I peddled steadily behind him. We reached at the dead end of a street, a large,
bleak industrial building and to my surprise we stepped in.
Falco is a japanese cafe located in the Mile End, and the design inside is heartbreaking.
If you don't try one of their amazing brunches on Sundays, I suggest you go any other day of the
week for a coffee and whatever their special is. The syphon process in which they make their
coffee is incredibly interesting to watch, and always delicious.

I have been extremely busy with my studies and work, but I have a lot of special things
to share that are on their way. I just made some banana bread tonight with maple syrup and
coconut oil that I am eating eagerly.

chillin' under †'s

Brie and baguette, c'est la vie!
Sunsets on Parc Ave. are always a delight.
At first, Jana and I were unfazed by the cold as we wandered abstractly up the mountain.
Passing people walking their dogs and sharing generous swigs out of a cheap bottle of wine, we were happy to be out in the woods again. We clambered up into a tree and there we sat, eating brie and baguette, reminiscing on summer. Not too long after becoming comfortable, we realized we were extremely cold and stumbled down from our perch as fast as we could.
We warmed up by watching a film in my bed and drinking gourmet homemade hot cocoa.
(recipe's coming soon)
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

East Coast CRIPS

Homemade Raincoast Crisp: East Coast Edition.
When I was still living in B.C., a little bird by the name of Solange inspired me
to bake my own crisps. This seemed like a time consuming, difficult task
but I was pleasantly surprised. I found a recipe and altered some of the ingredients
subtly, and they turned out excellently and took little energy and time..
 The ingredients are as follows:
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda     1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups buttermilk (or substitute**)
1/2 cup brown sugar   1/4 cup of ground flaxseed
1-2 cups of chopped berries and nuts of your choice
1 cup of cranberries never hurt anyone!
Begin with a large bowl and mix together the dry ingredients
(flour, baking soda, salt) and slowly add buttermilk and brown sugar.
If you do not have buttermilk (this being my case) you can simply substitute it
with one tablespoon of lemon juice mixed into one cup of milk.
Allow it to stand for five minutes and make sure there
is the proper amount for what the recipe calls for!
(In this case two cups.)
Stir in your nuts, seeds, berries and whatever else you desire.
Pour the mixture into two small loaf pans that you have already pre-greased.
Allow to bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 35 minutes.
Take them out and and let them cool.
I suggest freezing them overnight because they must be sliced extremely thin.
This proves to be difficult once the loaf has thawed. (Trust me)
Place the thin slices on a (non-greased) pan and bake at 300 degrees for
15 minutes on one side, and then 10 minutes on the other until brown and crisp.

what i do

New body chain - front

and the back

Art I made of Sondercroft & Sym's big camp-out.

Richie Rich Richards.
Bedazzled and chopped.
I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy creating, shooting and having fun, but here for all your illustrious eyes to see. To begin, the body chain was inspired when Rachel and I came across a perfect long gold chain like it was destiny (our girls at Sondercroft make divine body chains so check em out!) Although it is not particularly good for evening wear (I wore it to a party and it broke a lot) it is a delicate piece for the day. These shorts are perfect for summer and I finally have time for collaging again- well sorta. I hope your summer days are eventful and beautiful.

Wednesday

tea

Yesterday Rachel and I took a little trip to the Calico Cat, where we dined and had my tea leaves read. It had a humble atmosphere and I was so inspired after my reading - although now I am just inspired to leave to the East as soon as possible. Rachel had a Spinach Quiche and Salad and I had the Creme of Mushroom Soup with one of their famous scones. After words we both bought second hand Ralph Lauren and had dinner with the Sondercroft girls who treated us with kindness and grace. (pictures soon to come!)  The future is bright.
