I spent this weekend in Vancouver, and a lovely gentleman took me to Café Medina, which in turn quickly became my new favorite place. We were led down a dimly-lit hallway to the rear seating area which was a well-illuminated, brick-walled haven of good coffee and Paul Simon playing softly. I ordered the Saumon Fumé.
Open faced ciabatta sandwich. Fried egg, smoked salmon caper cream cheese, sliced avacado, arugula, pepperdew and artichoke salad.
I left satisfied and inspired.
